Shylene puts up the new back ground....

For these two workshops we added another 25 people to create the painted mural. If you look carefully you will see that Shylene made sure to leave some of the old mural up.. can you find it??

Artists join from around the neighbourhood

We kept the mural images very simple, so that the painting could be done like a coloring book- or paint by number.

Cox Girls get down and Dirty...

Grand & Daughter Create together..

Goaly gets his place in the mural.. perfect for the local team..

Hockey Fans.. add the final details...

Little gal with paints shadow of little gal, while her shadow helps...

Mural generals are up...

We also left lots of empty space to allow for any artists who wanted to add their ideas later, and would not have to wreck any other work.

Now only to get the mosaics up…

Grouting.. the messy part gets done...

Grouting.. A few evenings and the mosaics were all grouted. They sure look awesome!!!

Kari uses her skills to create...

A new idea for this project was to sell name tiles. For a small donation a family name would be etched into these slate tiles (donated from Artisan tile) then added to the frame of the project.
There was so much interest in this idea we ended up adding name tiles to the mural wall.. Each house on the wall got a thresh-hold name tile… great :>)

Family names to be added to the project...

We also used this etching technigue to create the plaque for the mural.. The mosaic of the man under the tree holds a book which tells a brief story about the mural project.
