So the day is finally here to start making the mosaics. With the shapes we just cut out that morning we all got to work.

This is the first time I have worked in this method, using mortar as the glue. This product was nicely donated by Tile Town - thanks to Tom!

So, again mask on, I began to mix the mortar...

Part way through the afternoon a lady stopped in to see what we were doing and played some lovely music on the piano for us. It was a wonderful addition to our day.

We all noticed that we have had a lack of male participants on the project and we talked about trying to change this. Just as we were having the conversation a young gent waiting for the bus came in to see what we were up to. Funny how that works.

It was a nice afternoon, with only a few participants coming in. We worked through the afternoon and were happy with the work completed. It will not take long to get these mosaics completed.

I brought with me some snacks to share with the group, so part way through the workshop we stopped to share a nibble. It was nice to share with my new friends. SO much of what mtC is about is sharing and making new relationships.

Then after a busy workshop we got to cleaning up together. Funny this is when the guys all showed up. Which was fine, as we can always use help with the clean up!
